Children and Adolescents at the Centre Sustainable of Development
Investing in children and adolescents is critical. We support global efforts to place children and adolescents at the centre of sustainable development and the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We do this by contributing to evidence-based policy and guidelines and committees for the World Health Organization and supporting activities of other United Nations agencies.
World Health Organization
Melbourne Children’s Global Health maintains a strong and strategic partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) to advance global health outcomes for children and adolescents.
We have contributed to the development of WHO guidelines and frameworks that establish standards and provide practical guidance for implementation by countries, governments, organisations and institutions worldwide.
Our team also plays an active role in global and regional WHO committees and advisory groups. These contributions are critical to achieving our shared goals for child and adolescent health.
We host four WHO Collaborating Centres at The Melbourne Children's:
Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Child and Neonatal Health
Collaborating Centre for Adolescent Health
Collaborating Centre for Child Health (Rotavirus)
Collaborating Centre for Scabies Control
The Lancet
Melbourne Children's Global Health has led a number of The Lancet Commissions which bring together experts on child and adolescent health to conduct research, analysis and develop evidence-based recommendations for policy makers to improve health outcomes.
