WHO Collaborating Centre for Scabies Control
The WHO Collaborating Centre for Scabies Control plays a central role in advancing global efforts to reduce the burden of scabies. The Centre contributes to improved global estimates of scabies prevalence and provides expert analysis of emerging data on field diagnostics to inform and support national scabies control programmes.
As part of its mandate, the Centre:
-
Develops training materials to support WHO-endorsed scabies control activities
-
Advocates for increased access to essential medications to help countries meet WHO scabies control targets
-
Contributes to the development of guidelines, manuals, methodologies, and other technical resources
In addition, the Centre actively engages in community outreach and public health promotion, including the organisation of conferences, summits, and other events aimed at raising awareness and strengthening global collaboration on scabies control.
