Our Commitment to Child Safety
We are committed to keeping children and young people safe and ensuring their wellbeing. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of child abuse, exploitation, or harm. Child safety is prioritised in our decision-making, at all levels of the Institute. We help our people understand and meet their responsibilities to keep children safe. When working with children and young people we ensure their safety, and respect their views, culture and diversity at all times.
Our Policies
Safeguarding Standards of Behaviour
When working on behalf with communities, all staff, volunteers, partners are required to:

treat everyone, including children, with respect

not behave in ways that are unsafe, harmful, harassing, abusive, sexually abusive, demeaning, or culturally inappropriate

avoid any actions that are or could be seen as exploitative, abusive, or harassing

undertake training to understand their safeguarding obligations and responsibilites

follow reporting requirements in the MCRI PSEAH and Child Safety policies
-
promptly disclose any charges, convictions, investigations, or other legal outcomes related to sexual exploitation, abuse, or harassment, including under traditional law, before or during my involvement in MCRI research or activities

follow safeguarding risk controls and treatments across research and project risk management plans
