Regional Alliance for Learning Health Systems for Equitable (ReALiSE)

The Regional Alliance for Learning in Systems for Equitable Child and Adolescent Health (ReALiSE) places children at the centre of ‘systems for health that create both healthy populations and health security while supporting the achievement of universal health coverage.’[i] We aim to strengthen systems for equitable child and adolescent health by:

1.     Increasing the access and use of data to strengthen preventative action.

2.     Increasing the use of data and evidence-based strategies for learning, implementation and quality improvement to strengthen resilient health systems.

3.     Increasing the involvement of young people and communities to build trust and address power.

Through ReALiSE, we will partner with 26 local organisations in 12 countries to:

  • Strengthen local health systems data to improve care and the use of oxygen as an essential medicine in Cambodia, Lao PDR and Papua New Guinea
  • Strengthen public health control of neglected tropical diseases, such as scabies, in Fiji, Kiribati, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Tuvalu
  • Engage young leaders to strengthen evidence-based policy for adolescent health in Fiji and Indonesia
  • Strengthen communicable disease surveillance and evidence for regional investment in vaccines in Fiji, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam
  • Engage young people, families and communities to improve vaccine uptake in Indonesia and the Philippines

The Regional Alliance for Learning in Systems for Equitable Child and Adolescent Health is a three-year funded program by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Centre for Health Security under their Partnerships for a Healthy Region Initiative.
